This page takes you from no account to a working homeworld, in the order the game itself uses. Keep it open in a second tab while you play.
1. Create your account
Registration is free. You need an email address and a password, or you can sign in with Google or Discord. That one login works for every Deuteria universe.
2. Join a universe from the lobby
After you sign in, the lobby lists the universes you can join. The live universe is Antares. Join it and the game creates your homeworld.
3. Collect your welcome package
Your homeworld starts with 500K of every resource, and your account with 500K Dark Matter. While you are new and small, beginner protection keeps much stronger players from attacking you. New commanders also mine up to 50% faster, and the bonus shrinks as you climb the highscore.
4. Choose a character class
The first time you enter the game, you pick a class. The first pick is free, and you can switch later for Dark Matter.
- Collector. The economy class: more production and energy, faster and cheaper cargo runs, and larger colonies.
- General. The combat class: faster warships, lower fuel use, extra fleet slots and bonus combat levels in battle.
- Discoverer. The expedition class: bigger finds, more expedition slots and expeditions that come home sooner, but no help in a fight.
Not sure? Pick the class that matches how you want to play. Collectors build, Generals raid, Discoverers explore.
5. Work through the new-player checklist
Your Overview page shows a checklist of first steps. Each one teaches a system and pays a small reward when you claim it. In order:
- Expand your Metal Mine, then build a Solar Plant and a Crystal Mine.
- Start deuterium production with a Deuterium Synthesizer.
- Build a Robotics Factory, a Shipyard and a Research Lab.
- Complete your first research. Energy Technology is the classic opener.
- Build a Small Cargo and an Espionage Probe, then spy on a neighbour from the galaxy view.
- Fly your first transport or attack, then send your first expedition.
- Spend your first Academy Points and discover a Lifeform race.
- Star a planet in the galaxy view, join or found an alliance, and research Astrophysics for your second planet.
6. Learn to fleetsave on day one
Ships sitting on a planet when you log off are a target. Before you go offline, send your fleet on a mission that keeps it away until you are back, and spend the resources you cannot protect. The fleet guide shows how.
Going away for longer? Vacation mode, in your settings, stops other players from targeting your planets while you are gone. While it is on, your mines and power plants stop producing, your queues pause, you cannot send fleets, and it cannot be switched off again before a minimum time has passed.
