Refund Policy
Last updated 1 August 2026
This policy covers purchases of Dark Matter, the optional virtual currency used inside DEUTERIA. Everything else in the game is free. It sits alongside section 5 of the Terms & Conditions and says the same thing in more detail.
1. Who you are buying from
Dark Matter is sold through Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller for the transaction: it takes the payment, charges any applicable VAT or sales tax, and issues the receipt. Your bank statement will show Paddle rather than DEUTERIA. Paddle's own terms and buyer terms apply in addition to this policy.
2. Delivery
Dark Matter is credited to your account automatically as soon as the payment is confirmed — normally within seconds. You do not need to keep the page open, and closing the tab after paying changes nothing. If it has not arrived within one hour, email support before buying again.
3. Your right to cancel, and why it ends at once
UK and EU consumers normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. Digital content delivered immediately is an exception. By buying Dark Matter you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once delivery has begun. Because delivery is immediate, that right ends at the moment of purchase.
4. When you do get a refund
Purchases are otherwise final, but we refund in full where:
• you were charged twice, or the charge is clearly an error;
• you paid for Dark Matter and it was never delivered;
• the payment is verified as unauthorised — for example a child or another person used your card without permission;
• a refund is required by law.
5. When you do not
• Dark Matter you have already spent, including spending you regret.
• A change of mind after delivery.
• Losing ships, defences, resources or planets in the game, to other players or otherwise. Loss is the game.
• Account closure or a ban for breaking the Rules — remaining Dark Matter is forfeited.
• A universe reset, a balance change, or a change to what Dark Matter buys. What a purchase is worth in-game can change.
None of this removes your statutory rights.
6. How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, within 30 days of the charge, with the order reference from your Paddle receipt and a sentence about what went wrong. We aim to reply within three working days. You can also contact Paddle directly using the link on the receipt.
Please ask before starting a chargeback. A chargeback suspends the account and forfeits Dark Matter and items while the bank investigates, and it is slower than emailing us.
7. No cash value
Dark Matter is a licence to use features inside the game. It has no value outside it, cannot be transferred between accounts, and is never redeemable for money. If the Service ever closes we will say so in advance; unspent Dark Matter is not refundable except where the law requires it.
